About Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU)

TDTU is established in 1997 and situated in the center of Ho Chi Minh City - the commercial hub of Vietnam. Up to now, it is a public and autonomous university. The university has five campuses, in Ho Chi Minh City (two campuses), Nha Trang City, Lam Dong Province and Ca Mau Province. The main campus is located in an area of 26,500 m2 in Tan Phong Ward, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Currently, TDTU has 16 faculties, 18 centers for technology transfer, 2 institutes, 1 foundation for science and technology, and different laboratories. The university offers over 60 programs at the vocational, undergraduate and postgraduate levels. There are approximately 22,000 students pursuing their studies at the university.

TDTU also provides facilities for post-study workouts. The main campus boasts a sport complex in which lots of indoor games such as badminton, tennis, volleyball, basketball and many other activities can be played. Furthermore, there is a swimming pool and a FIFA 2-star football stadium. There are two fully equipped dormitories which can accommodate up to 2,160 students.

In 2015, TDTU became the first public university in Vietnam which had been awarded 3 stars out of 5 stars by QS World University Ratings. Also in this year, TDTU had been granted 04 US patents by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO); this makes TDTU become the first and unique university in Vietnam granted US patents.

In 2016, TDTU is ranked 2nd in Vietnam about international peer-reviewed publications indexed by Scopus (Elsevier, the Netherlands). Remarkably, during the period 2011-2015, TDTU stands number one in Vietnam about scientific citations counted by ISI Web of Knowledge (Thomson Reuters, the United States).

In April 2016, the main campus of TDTU was recognized as an environmentally-friendly campus by Vietnam Federation of UNESCO Associations. Remarkably, in December 2016, TDTU joined the Top 200 best universities in the world in sustainability, ranked 156th, by Green Metric World University Ranking. The criteria of this ranking include six indicators: setting and infrastructure, energy and climate change, waste discharge management, water system, transportation, scientific research and training capacity in sustainability.

TDTU is steadily growing to meet the expanding demand for higher education as well as high-quality human resources in Vietnam. The University is now ranked among the largest and fastest growing universities in Vietnam in all aspects.
